We live where we guide
Inca Outdoors is a trekking company from Cusco, built around one idea: the mountains are best shared in small groups, by people who call them home.
What we do
We specialize in walking. Our work is the multi day routes to Machu Picchu and Choquequirao, the high day hikes around Cusco and a few carefully planned visits to the citadel by train. We do not try to sell all of Peru. We would rather know thirteen trips in depth than a hundred on paper.
Every departure is operated by our own team. The guide who briefs you at your hotel is the guide who walks with you. The cooks, the tents and the dining gear are ours, which is how we keep the same standard from the first day to the last.
How we look after you
- A briefing the evening before every trip, so you know the plan and can ask anything.
- Guides trained in first aid, carrying oxygen and a medical kit on every departure.
- Honest advice about altitude and difficulty before you book, not after.
- One contact from your first message to your return to Cusco.

Four things we do not compromise on
Small groups by choice
A small group moves better on a narrow trail, eats together at one table and leaves less of a mark on the mountain.
Guides from the region
Our guides are licensed professionals from Cusco and its valleys. They know the weather, the history and the people along each route.
A crew that is looked after
Cooks, muleteers and porters are the backbone of every trek. We pay them fairly, equip them properly and respect legal load limits.
Light on the trail
We carry out all our waste, use refillable water on the trail and keep to marked paths and camps.
